How do I book an appointment?
Appointments can be booked online through our secure Client Portal, where you can view current availability and choose your preferred therapist and appointment time.
Your first session
Your first session is an opportunity to talk about what has brought you to therapy, how your difficulties are affecting you and what you would like to change.
Your therapist will ask some questions to understand your circumstances and what you hope to gain from therapy. Together, you can begin to identify what may be helpful and whether further sessions would be appropriate.
Therapy is an active, collaborative process and may include reflection, practical exercises and strategies to support change between sessions.
How many sessions will I need?
There is no fixed number of sessions. Some people benefit from short-term therapy, while others choose to work for longer.
You and your therapist can review your progress together, and you remain free to decide how frequently you attend and when you wish to finish.
Professional standards and approach
Our therapists work within recognised professional and ethical standards and have completed verified, accredited training.
Therapy is tailored to the individual rather than requiring clients to fit a particular therapeutic model. Our therapists draw on a range of evidence-informed approaches according to each person’s needs.
The quality of the therapeutic relationship is also an important factor in effective therapy.
Confidentiality and records
Your therapy sessions are confidential. Your therapist may discuss their clinical work confidentially with a supervisor as part of safe and ethical professional practice.
Confidentiality may need to be broken where there is a serious risk of harm or where disclosure is required by law. Wherever possible, your therapist will discuss any concerns with you before taking action.
Brief clinical notes are kept securely and personal information is processed in accordance with UK data protection law. Records are retained in line with legal and professional requirements.
You have rights in relation to your personal information, including requesting access to your records and asking for inaccurate information to be corrected. Please contact Lewis Psychology if you wish to make a request.

Our current fees for self-funding clients are available on our Fees page.
